Phillip Hawes was the Indio City Manager. He confirmed to Indio Daily News staff writer Paul Zalis that William Cole, a Los Angeles-based attorney, had been hired to investigate possible links between the triple slayings of Fred Alvarez, Ralph Boger, and Patricia Castro and the Cabazon Indian Reservation.1
