Pacifica, California was where Danilo Blandón settled after arriving in the United States, establishing his first base of operations near San Francisco. The coastal city south of San Francisco became Blandón's initial home as he built the cocaine trafficking network that would eventually supply "Freeway" Ricky Ross and fuel the crack epidemic in Los Angeles.1
Blandón's First U.S. Home
After entering the United States, Blandón established himself in Pacifica and began building his drug distribution operation. From this base, he expanded his network southward to Los Angeles, where he connected with Ross and built the massive trafficking operation that moved thousands of kilos of cocaine. Blandón's move from Pacifica to Southern California marked the transition from a regional operation to a coast-to-coast cocaine distribution network.2
