Wayne Jacobs

Wayne A. Jacobs is the special agent in charge of the Philadelphia Field Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, named by Director Christopher Wray. He appeared with Commissioner Kevin Bethel and Deputy Commissioner Frank Vanore of the Philadelphia Police Department at the briefing of September 16, 2026, on the Olney House Investigation, and said that further search warrants were planned for the house on Chew Avenue.¹²

Career

Jacobs was a trading systems analyst before joining the FBI as a special agent in 2003. He was assigned to the New York Field Office, where he worked on government and financial fraud and later violent crime and gangs. He became a supervisory special agent in the Criminal Investigative Division at headquarters in 2014, a violent gangs task force supervisor in Los Angeles in 2016, and assistant special agent in charge of the Mission Support Branch in Newark in 2018. In 2020 he was promoted to section chief in the Counterintelligence Division at headquarters, and in 2021 he became special agent in charge of the Criminal and Cyber Division of the Washington Field Office. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware and a master's degree from Columbia University.¹
