Shulamit Ingerman was a civilian cryptographer and head of the Iranian desk in Unit 8200, an Israeli Signals Intelligence (Sigint) unit. She was recognized as one of Israel's best cryptographers, having won the highest award for contributions to Israel's security twice.1

Ingerman introduced Ari Ben-Menashe to the Iranian team of six within Unit 8200. She was called by Ari Ben-Menashe when he successfully broke the Iranian diplomatic code. She later intervened to obtain a pardon for Ari Ben-Menashe after he was court-martialed for insubordination by Lt. Col. Sasson Yishaek.1
