Assistant Chief of the California Highway Patrol who reported the official details of the 1983 Queen's Accident collision.
Richard Hanna was the Assistant Chief of the CHP. He reported that the collision involving a Mariposa County Sheriff's vehicle and a Secret Service car occurred at 10:50 a.m. on March 5, 1983, between Coulterville and La Grange on Highway 132, about 25 minutes ahead of Queen Elizabeth II's motorcade.1
