Kermit Roosevelt was a CIA officer who, along with Miles Copeland, helped the Iranian military restore the Shah of Iran to power in 1953. This occurred after the Shah had been overthrown by Mohammed Mossadegh during the turmoil that followed the nationalization of Iranian oil.1
