Don Seraydarian

Don G. Seraydarian is a clinical and forensic psychologist in Langhorne, Bucks County, and a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, who has consulted for the Bucks County courts, corrections, and probation departments, the Philadelphia Public Defender's Office, and Bucks County Children and Youth. In 1985 the defense lawyers of R.C. Horsch, then Raymond C. Hoersch, commissioned him to examine Horsch before his federal sentencing for manufacturing methamphetamine.¹²

After a four-hour assessment he wrote that Horsch was "grandiose, mistrustful, suspicious, and excessively controlling," that he "has great concern about 'losing control' over himself and invests great quantities of psychic energy in trying to maintain a sense of equilibrium and control," and that further prison time would "increase his hostility and sense of alienation." He concluded that Horsch likely suffered from bipolar and paranoid personality disorders, measured his IQ at 140, and recorded Horsch's description of his wife and four-year-old son as the "most important things in his life": "now I'm hurting them as well as myself." The report was filed with a motion for a lenient sentence. The Philadelphia Inquirer obtained it through a federal records request in 2026; Seraydarian confirmed that he had written it but could recall only that Horsch was "very bright." Michael Yoder, a retired FBI profiler who reviewed it for the paper, said it described "a potential serial killer."¹
