Golani infantry brigade

The Golani Brigade is an elite Israeli Army infantry unit whose former commander Uri Simchoni later served as a member of the Iran-Israel Joint Committee during the Iran-Contra arms transfers.

The Golani infantry brigade is an elite infantry brigade of the Israeli Defense Forces. Uri Simchoni, a member of the Iran-Israel Joint Committee, was formerly the chief of this brigade.1

Ari Ben-Menashe's basic training in the military was in a special infantry unit known as Golani, where he undertook a special high-explosives sabotage course.1
