Under Roe's leadership, Burns & Roe, Inc. was involved in major projects, including the engineering design and construction of the U.S.A. Fast Breeder Nuclear Reactor Plant in conjunction with Westinghouse Electric Corporation, which was responsible for the nuclear system supply of steam. At the time, the construction value of Burns & Roe, Inc.'s business backlog exceeded six billion U.S. dollars.1
His involvement with FIDCO placed him among a group of influential individuals with ties to government and intelligence, including Robert Maheu, Michael A. McManus, Robert Booth Nichols, and George K. Pender.1
