John Cartwright II

John Cartwright II, operating under the username "Blood and Iron," was a moderator of the Iron March neo-fascist web forum and a member of the United States Navy identified through the 2019 Iron March database leak.

Forum Role and Timeline

Cartwright joined Iron March in September 2011, immediately following the forum's launch on ironmarch.org, making him one of the earliest members of the permanent community. His early arrival gave him extensive interaction with Alisher Mukhitdinov ("Alexander Slavros") and the forum's core organizers across the full span of the platform's operation.

His moderator status placed him within the administrative tier that included Benjamin Raymond, co-founder of National Action, and other senior figures whose presence shaped the forum's content policies and community norms. As a moderator, Cartwright had administrative access to the forum's backend functions beyond those available to regular users.¹

Database records and private message content from the leaked SQL dump established his identity. He participated in a Skype group organized by Jacob Rutledge (username "American Blackshirt"), an Indianapolis-based Iron March organizer, where he offered to contribute articles on the Occupy movement and on "shabby modern art" as topics of interest.¹

Identification

The Iron March Dossiers project identified Cartwright in a post published March 13, 2020. The identification used the combination of his registered email address, self-disclosed personal details in private messages, and cross-referenced social media footprints accumulated over his years of Iron March activity. At the time of identification, he was reported to be a U.S. Navy member living in Millersville, Maryland. No criminal charges followed the identification, and no public record confirms any Navy investigation or administrative action in his case.¹
