Georgina Spelvin

Georgina Spelvin is an American performer who appeared on Broadway in The Pajama Game and toured in musical productions through the 1950s and 1960s before starring, at 36, in Gerard Damiano's The Devil in Miss Jones (1973), for which she had first been hired as the cook on the set; she had applied for that job because the anti-war film collective she had started needed money for the rent on its editing space.¹ She lived and worked in New York City for two decades before moving to California in the mid-1970s, and in 2006 published a memoir, The Devil Made Me Do It.¹

In February 1973 she appeared in The Erotic Memoirs of a Male Chauvinist Pig, shot in Philadelphia by R.C. Horsch and John Butterworth.²³ The trade magazine Take One reported in the spring of 1973 that "Bob Sumner's Mature Films in New York followed up Memoirs of a Male Chauvinist Pig (starring Ms. Spelvin) with High Rise."⁴
