Forges de Clabecq

Forges de Clabecq was a steel production plant in Belgium owned by the Dessy industrialist family, which held a controlling interest in the factory. The Dessy family's connections to the child abuse networks documented in the X-Dossier emerged through multiple witnesses. Forges de Clabecq, identified as a member of the family, was named as the mistress and wealthy benefactor of Armand Van Ghysegham, the book publisher and Abrasax Institute member who was the primary focus of the Abrasax investigation. Two of Ghysegham's former employees stated that Dessy financed his activities.¹

Two members of the Dessy family were named by an anonymous witness in the X-Dossier in November 1996 as close associates of the lawyer Jean-Paul Dumont. Forges de Clabecq, identified as a former executive of the Bank Brussels Lambert, was named through his brother, who was identified only as DESSY in the X-Dossier. According to the witness, Georges Dessy's brother was a member of the homosexual network Spartacus and paid large sums for pedophile cassettes featuring torture and for children.¹

In 1996, a Belgian politician named Karel Van Miert, who had succeeded Leon Brittan as the European Commissioner of Competition in 1993, oversaw the approval of a government bailout for the Dessy family's Forges de Clabecq steel factory. Van Miert was identified by X2 as an attendee at high society sadomasochist child sex parties. The convergence of political protection, industrial ownership, and the child abuse networks documented in the X-Dossier centered on the Dessy family's financial and social position within the Belgian establishment.¹
