• Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal Skeptics' organization founded in 1976 by Paul Kurtz at an American Humanist Association conference in Buffalo, publisher of the Skeptical Inquirer, later renamed the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry, now a Center for Inquiry program.
• Skeptical Inquirer Magazine of the Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal, begun in Buffalo in 1976 as The Zetetic and renamed in 1977, edited by Kendrick Frazier for more than four decades.
