[Austria](/places/austria/) is a country in Central Europe. Its capital, Vienna, is home to the [United Nations Fund for Drug Abuse Control](/organizations/united-nations-fund-for-drug-abuse-control/) (UNFDAC). The UNFDAC was a funding source for the purchase of computer software and hardware systems, including [PROMIS](/programs/promis/) software, by drug abuse control agencies in the Middle East.[^1]
