Brigadier General [Uri Simchoni](/people/uri-simchoni/) was a member of the [Iran-Israel Joint Committee](/organizations/iran-israel-joint-committee/). He served at various times as assistant deputy chief of staff for operations for the [Israel](/places/israel/) and as a military attaché in [Washington, D.C.](/places/washington-dc/). He had also been the chief of the elite [Golani infantry brigade](/organizations/golani-infantry-brigade/).[^1]

[Simchoni](/people/uri-simchoni/) was part of the [Israeli](/places/israel/) delegation at the October 1980 [Paris Summit Meeting](/events/paris-summit-meeting/), which included [George H.W.
