### Background

Shahriar J. allegedly operated as a [764](/organizations/764-network/) network administrator from his parents' home in a wealthy Hamburg suburb beginning in approximately January 2021, when he was 15 or 16 years old. Prosecutors allege he victimized more than 30 children across multiple countries, including victims in [Germany](/places/germany/), the [United Kingdom](/places/united-kingdom/), the [United States](/places/united-states/), and [Canada](/places/canada/). He was identified by law enforcement following an alert from the FBI that was initially related to child pornography.
