[Richard Stavin](/people/richard-stavin/) was a member of the Organized Crime Strike Force. He supervised the [FBI](/organizations/federal-bureau-of-investigation/) wiretaps on [MCA](/organizations/music-corporation-of-america/). Along with U.S. Attorney [Marvin Rudnick](/people/marvin-rudnick/) and [FBI](/organizations/federal-bureau-of-investigation/) agent [Thomas Gates](/people/thomas-gates/), Stavin believed that [MCA](/organizations/music-corporation-of-america/) had been penetrated by organized crime, based on the wiretaps.[1]

Stavin quit his job after the [DOJ](/organizations/department-of-justice/) sealed the wiretaps and no prosecutions were pursued in the [MCA](/organizations/music-corporation-of-america/) organized crime investigation. The Los Angeles Organized Crime Strike Force was disbanded following these events.[1]
