In April 1989, [Timpani](/people/mike-timpani/) was involved in a deal to sell three C-130s to [Tehran](/places/iran/), working with [Richard St. Francis](/people/richard-st-francis/) of [TransCapital Corporation](/organizations/transcapital-corporation/) and [Joseph O'Toole](/people/joseph-otoole/). This deal was intended to be a go-between for [Israel](/places/israel/) and [Iran](/places/iran/). He was slated to make a personal profit of $2 million from this deal.[^1]
