[Kristopher Erik Nippak](/people/kristopher-erik-nippak/) of East York, Ontario was arrested on December 8, 2023, alongside [Matthew Althorpe](/people/matthew-althorpe/) of Thorold, Ontario, following an 18-month RCMP investigation that covered alleged offenses dating from April 2018 through the arrest date. Nippak faces one count of participation in the activities of a terrorist group under the Criminal Code of Canada in connection with his creation of propaganda videos for [Atomwaffen Division](/organizations/atomwaffen-division/) and manifestos for the [Terrorgram Collective](/organizations/terrorgram-collective/). He was granted bail (with conditions) following initial detention, in contrast to Althorpe, who was denied bail twice. A judge-alone trial in Toronto was scheduled to begin in January 2026.[^1]

### RCMP Investigation and Alleged Conduct

The RCMP investigation covered alleged offenses beginning in April 2018, corresponding to the early period of both AWD's international expansion and the pre-Terrorgram accelerationist Telegram ecosystem. Prosecutors presented the court with manifestos, videos, thumbnails, photos, and documents contained on hard drives seized from Althorpe's computer during the investigation, with Nippak's alleged contributions to that shared material base forming the basis of his participation charge.

Specifically, Nippak was alleged to have participated in the creation of recruiting videos for Atomwaffen Division and in the creation of a series of manifestos and terrorism manuals for the Terrorgram Collective. The reference to AWD videos placed his alleged conduct in the pre-Terrorgram period (2018-2019) through the Terrorgram publication era (2021-2022).

Separately from the terrorism case, investigative reporting by Vice World News exposed Nippak as a significant figure within Active Club Canada, the Canadian branch of the far-right physical fitness and organizing network associated with American white nationalist Robert Rundo. Nippak traveled extensively to network with European white nationalist organizations and Active Club chapters. This public exposure preceded his arrest.

### Charges, Bail Proceedings, and Trial Status

The RCMP charged Nippak with one count of participation in the activities of a terrorist group, significantly fewer charges than the eight-count indictment facing Althorpe. Nippak's bail was contested on multiple grounds. Unlike Althorpe, who was detained pending trial after two denied bail applications, Nippak was ultimately granted bail with conditions.

Nippak elected to proceed by judge-alone trial rather than jury. A six-week judge-alone trial in Toronto was scheduled to begin in January 2026. As of May 2026, no verdict had been reported.[^2]
