[Edward Levinson](/people/edward-levinson/) was a Las Vegas gambler and a lieutenant of Florida mobster [Meyer Lansky](/people/meyer-lansky/). His Fremont Hotel in Las Vegas was financed through a [Hoffa](/people/jimmy-hoffa/) loan. Levinson was one of the associates who brought a lawsuit against [Bobby Baker](/people/bobby-baker/) in 1963, alleging that Baker failed to live up to certain bargains. Through Baker, Levinson also became acquainted with [Clint Murchison, Sr.](/people/clint-murchison-sr/).[^1]
