[Eddy Erdelatz](/people/eddy-erdelatz/) was a former San Francisco Police inspector. In 2000, he provided a valuable lead about an obscure file, the "Paul Morasca Homicide Investigation File – Case No. 82-1052505," which had not been computerized and was essentially inaccessible without direct knowledge of its existence. Erdelatz had investigated suspected drug trafficking and money laundering in 1981, and then investigated [Paul Morasca](/people/paul-morasca/)'s homicide in January 1982, placing a comprehensive report within the file relative to [Philip Arthur Thompson](/people/philip-arthur-thompson/)'s suspected connections to the murder.[^1]
