[Dexter Leitenen](/people/dexter-leitenen/) was an assistant U.S. Attorney and a close friend of [Allan Boyak](/people/allan-boyak/) from his Green Beret days. He later became the Miami U.S. Attorney. Boyak consulted with Leitenen before going to the Los Angeles [FBI](/organizations/federal-bureau-of-investigation/) office with his suspicions about [Robert Booth Nichols](/people/robert-booth-nichols/)' activities.[^1]
