Clara Hoersch
Mother of the pornographer and fugitive R.C. Horsch, a daughter of a Stroudsburg family who lived with her husband Raymond C. Hoersch in Bucks County.
Clara Hoersch, born Clara Hagerty, was the wife of the engineer and former glider pilot Raymond C. Hoersch and the mother of the Philadelphia pornographer, counterfeiter, and fugitive R.C. Horsch. She was a daughter of Eugene D. Hagerty and Cecilia T. Hagerty of Stroudsburg in the Poconos, where her son was born in 1943.1234
Family
In January 1955 a Bucks County social column reported that Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Hoersch had been honored at a New Year's Eve party in Paoli for their thirteenth wedding anniversary, and that her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Hagerty of Reading, had visited them.1 Her son said that his mother was a housewife during his early childhood on a farm near Stroudsburg.5 In September 1969 she and her husband, then of Doylestown, attended her parents' fiftieth wedding anniversary in Stroudsburg with their daughter Helen.6
In September 1971 her husband bought property in Chalfont, and the family house at 523 North Main Street was the address their son gave in his 1972 suit against the Army and the house where, according to officials, he had been living when the United States Secret Service arrested him for counterfeiting in December 1974.78 Her mother's obituary of October 1991 lists her among the survivors as "Clara Hoersch of Chalfont, Bucks County," with her brothers Elwood, of Wyomissing Hills, and Olen, Ottmar, and Carl, of Stroudsburg.2
