[Bob Schilly](/people/bob-schilly/) was a Sergeant in the [CHP](/organizations/california-highway-patrol/). He reported that Mariposa County Sheriff's Sergeant [Roderick Sinclair](/people/roderick-sinclair/), who was driving with his partner, Deputy [Rod McKean](/people/rod-mckean/), crossed the center line and hit the second of three Secret Service cars, causing it to tumble down a 10-foot embankment. This occurred during the "Queen's accident" on March 5, 1983.[^1]
