### SkyBridge Capital

Anthony Scaramucci describes himself in the biography on the SALT Conference website as founder and managing partner of SkyBridge Capital, founded in 2005; earlier he co-founded the investment partnership Oscar Capital Management (sold to Neuberger Berman in 2001) and was a vice president in private wealth management at [Goldman Sachs](/organizations/goldman-sachs/). The same biography lists the books "The Little Book of Hedge Funds," "Goodbye Gordon Gekko," "Hopping Over the Rabbit Hole" (2016) and "Trump: The Blue-Collar President," and memberships in the [Council on Foreign Relations](/organizations/council-on-foreign-relations/) and Business Executives for National Security.[^1]

The annual amendment of the Form ADV of SkyBridge Capital II, LLC (CRD 148152, [Securities and Exchange Commission](/organizations/securities-and-exchange-commission/) file number 801-71056) printed March 31, 2026 lists on Schedule A Scaramucci (CRD 1983175) as "MANAGER, MEMBER" since May 2018 with control person status and ownership code C; Brett Messing (manager, president, co-chief investment officer since July 2021); Raymond Nolte (co-chief investment officer since February 2019); Prowes Holding S.A. (June 2022); and "ISLAND BAY VENTURES, INC" (Delaware), member since September 2022 with ownership code C (25% but less than 50%). Beneath Island Bay the schedule lists "PAPER BIRD INC" and, as its shareholder since September 2022, [Sam Bankman-Fried](/people/sam-bankman-fried/) (CRD 6204362). Item 7.B lists among the adviser's private funds "SKYBRIDGE FTX LP," general partner "SKYBRIDGE FTX GP LLC."[^2]

### SALT

The SALT Conference site states that SALT "was founded in 2009 by SkyBridge Capital, a leading fund of funds, but now operates as a standalone entity"; its operating company is SALT Venture Group, LLC, 527 Madison Avenue, New York.[^3] The speaker pages for Scaramucci carry the tags [Las Vegas](/places/las-vegas/) 2019, [Abu Dhabi](/places/abu-dhabi/) 2019, SALT Talks, New York 2021 and 2022, Asia 2022, Abu Dhabi 2023, New York 2023 and Asia 2023, with a "Host" tag for SALT Talks season 3.[^1] Pages for [Peter Diamandis](/people/peter-diamandis/) (Las Vegas 2019), [Avi Loeb](/people/avi-loeb/) (New York 2022) and [Garry Nolan](/people/garry-nolan/) (iConnections New York 2023) appear on the same site, as do pages for [Alex Klokus](/people/alex-klokus/) (New York 2021 and 2022, iConnections Asia 2022, iConnections New York 2023) and AJ Scaramucci (Las Vegas 2019, New York 2022, Asia 2022, New York 2023).[^1] [Karl Nell](/people/karl-nell/) appears in the May 21, 2024 iConnections New York programme described on the Karl Nell page.

### FTX Ventures and the FTX bankruptcy

ForkLog reported on September 9, 2022 that FTX Ventures would acquire 30 percent of SkyBridge Capital, quoting a press release that the investment would give SkyBridge "additional revolving capital" and that SkyBridge would "purchase $40 million of cryptocurrency to hold on its balance sheet"; Bankman-Fried told CNBC, "We've gotten to know the team over the last year."[^4]

On November 8, 2024 [FTX Trading Ltd.](/organizations/ftx/), Island Bay Ventures Inc. and Clifton Bay Investments LLC (formerly [Alameda Research Ventures LLC](/organizations/alameda-research/)) filed Adv. Pro. No. 24-50209 in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware against SkyBridge Capital II, LLC, SkyBridge GP Holdings LLC, Digital Macro Fund LP (formerly SkyBridge Coin Fund LP), SALT Venture Group LLC, Scaramucci and Messing. The complaint alleges three 2022 transactions: a January 2022 sponsorship agreement under which FTX agreed to pay $12 million for SALT conferences and podcast episodes in 2022 to 2024; a March 2022 investment of $10 million by Alameda Research Ventures in the SkyBridge Coin Fund; and a payment on September 7, 2022 of $45 million by Island Bay for 30 percent membership interests in SkyBridge II and SkyBridge GP. It seeks "in excess of $100 million," pleading claims against Scaramucci and Messing for breach of contract and of fiduciary duty.[^5] The defendants' memorandum of January 29, 2025 (document 30) asks the court to compel arbitration of the claims relating to the SkyBridge acquisition and the SALT sponsorship (Counts 5 to 9 and 12 to 13) and to stay the remaining claims (Counts 1 to 4, 10 and 11), and argues that the court lacks subject matter jurisdiction over the state law claims (Counts 7 to 9). The opposition of April 8, 2025 (document 52) is captioned for the "FTX Recovery Trust" as plaintiff.[^5]

The FTX creditor matrix (document 574, page 102, filed January 25, 2023) lists a creditor "THE SALT FUND" with contact lines "AJ SCARAMUCCI," "ALEX KLOKUS" and a third individual, and a separate row "SKYBRIDGE CAPITAL."[^6]

### AJ Scaramucci

Bustle reported on August 1, 2017 that Alexander Scaramucci, "also known as AJ according to The Daily Mail," was Anthony Scaramucci's oldest child, aged 24, and per his LinkedIn page an "entrepreneur in residence" working with Peter Diamandis across XPRIZE, Human Longevity, Planetary Resources, BOLD Capital Partners, Singularity University and Abundance 360.[^7] Fortune reported on September 24, 2026 that AJ Scaramucci describes himself as "the oldest of five children" and refers to his father as the serial entrepreneur Anthony Scaramucci, and that his firm Solari Capital has deployed about $350 million, with Diamandis among its backers; the article says SALT, "which Scaramucci co-chairs," functions as "an informal investor-relations function for the portfolio" and draws about 10,000 attendees a year across five to seven events.[^7]

The Form ADV of [SALT Fund Management LLC](/organizations/salt-fund-management-llc/) (CRD 316587), filed March 30, 2026, lists [Alexander Joseph Scaramucci](/people/alexander-scaramucci/) (CRD 6960736) and Alexander Klokus (CRD 7432068) as managing members, each acquired September 2021, each with ownership code D (50% but less than 75%) and control person status.[^8] SALT Fund I, L.P. filed a Form D on March 16, 2021 naming both as executive officers and "Managing Member of the General Partner," offering $25,000,000; an amendment of July 6, 2021 reports $34,585,000 sold to 91 investors.[^8] The same two names appear on Form D filings for Tomorrow Farms (May 24, 2022), Kyber Capital Crypto Fund I LP (August 23, 2022), Shuttle Labs (November 28, 2022), Radial Health (April 30, 2024) and Microcapital (November 7, 2024).[^8]

### White House

The White House announced on July 21, 2017 that [Donald Trump](/people/donald-trump/) would appoint Scaramucci, "a successful entrepreneur, financier, and founder of SkyBridge Capital," then senior vice president and chief strategy officer of the Export-Import Bank of the United States, as communications director, with a stated official start date of August 15, 2017. On July 31, 2017 the press secretary issued a statement that Scaramucci "will be leaving his role" and that "Mr. Scaramucci felt it was best to give Chief of Staff John Kelly a clean slate and the ability to build his own team."[^9]
