Ann-Marie Murphy was the Irish girlfriend of [Nezar Hindawi](/people/nezar-hindawi/). She was unwittingly used in a 1986 plot to bomb an [El Al](/organizations/el-al/) plane. Hindawi, acting on instructions from [Mohammed Radi Abdullah](/people/mohammed-radi-abdullah/) as part of an [Israeli](/organizations/rafi/) "black" operation, intended for her to board the plane with explosives in her bag, leading to her death and the deaths of all other passengers.

The plot was foiled by [Israeli](/places/israel/) security. Ann-Marie Murphy was interrogated by British security, where she revealed Hindawi's involvement. She later gave birth to their daughter in Ireland.[^1]
