He was a student at Bar Ilan University in 1972, where he became friends with [Ari Ben-Menashe](/people/ari-ben-menashe/).[^1]

[Atamna](/people/adel-mohammad-atamna/) invited [Ben-Menashe](/people/ari-ben-menashe/) to teach English at his village high school. [Atamna](/people/adel-mohammad-atamna/) referred to [Ben-Menashe](/people/ari-ben-menashe/) as his brother.[^1]

[Atamna](/people/adel-mohammad-atamna/) was the individual SHABAK attempted to recruit [Ben-Menashe](/people/ari-ben-menashe/) to spy on, an offer [Ben-Menashe](/people/ari-ben-menashe/) refused.[^1]
