[Abul Abbas](/people/abul-abbas/) was a Palestinian terrorist. He was involved in the 1985 [Achille Lauro](/events/achille-lauro/) attack, which was an [Israeli](/places/israel/) "black" propaganda operation designed to show the world the perceived brutality of Palestinians.[^1]

[Abbas](/people/abul-abbas/) received orders from [Mohammed Radi Abdullah](/people/mohammed-radi-abdullah/), who was relaying instructions from [Rafi](/organizations/rafi/). He was reportedly receiving millions from [Israeli](/places/israel/) intelligence officers posing as Sicilian dons. [Abbas](/people/abul-abbas/) gathered a team to attack the cruise ship, with instructions to make the attack severe to highlight Palestinian demands.[^1]
