The Swiss Paedophile Association was a Swiss organization that counted among its founding members [Beat Meier](/people/beat-meier/) and [Karl Hobi](/people/karl-hobi/). Meier served as the honorary president of the association and published a pedophile magazine called LIBIDO from Zurich. The association formed part of the broader network of European pedophile organizations connected to the [Spartacus Network](/organizations/spartacus-network/) through shared membership and publication distribution channels.[^1]

The association came under scrutiny during Scotland Yard's investigation into snuff films. [Karl Hobi](/people/karl-hobi/), a founding member, was identified by a convicted pedophile named Jean Michel Klopp as having shown him a snuff film featuring a British boy in 1989. Klopp told investigators that Hobi had described the film as a new kind of product for a new clientele that could make significantly more money because of its extreme content. Hobi attributed the organization of the film's production to Meier. Both Hobi and Meier, imprisoned at the time, refused to be interviewed regarding the allegations. The Swiss Paedophile Association's connections to Meier's LIBIDO magazine and to the broader Spartacus infrastructure linked it to the international distribution networks for both child pornography and, according to witness testimony, snuff films.[^1]
