[The firm](/organizations/strategic-intelligence-services/) was involved in recruiting mercenaries and facilitating covert operations, including an unsuccessful coup in the Seychelles in November 1981. It also played a role in gathering intelligence on Palestinian organizations in Europe through [Mohammed Radi Abdullah](/people/mohammed-radi-abdullah/), who unwittingly provided information that led to the elimination of Palestinian militants.[^1]
