The Stanford Social Innovation Review (SSIR) is a quarterly on philanthropy, nonprofits and social enterprise at [Stanford University](/organizations/stanford-university/). According to the Stanford Graduate School of Business, its Center for Social Innovation, a grantee of the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, launched the review in the spring of 2003.[^1]

### Coverage of Open Philanthropy

The review's Summer 2018 issue carried "Giving in the Light of Reason" by [Marc Gunther](/people/marc-gunther/), a profile of [Cari Tuna](/people/cari-tuna/) and [Open Philanthropy](/organizations/open-philanthropy/) that counted seven entities in which Tuna served as a director or major donor, among them [Good Ventures](/organizations/good-ventures/), the [Open Philanthropy Action Fund](/organizations/open-philanthropy-action-fund/) and [GiveWell](/organizations/givewell/), and quoted [Alexander Berger](/people/alexander-berger/) that "tax considerations are key."[^2]
