The Lost Mountain Tissue Bank, Inc., of Kennesaw, Georgia, was one of the five tissue processors that, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, received tissue directly from [Biomedical Tissue Services](/organizations/biomedical-tissue-services/), the company of [Michael Mastromarino](/people/michael-mastromarino/), and recalled it in September and October 2005 after the Food and Drug Administration learned that the tissue had been taken from corpses without consent. The others were [Regeneration Technologies](/organizations/regeneration-technologies/), [LifeCell](/organizations/lifecell/), [Tutogen Medical](/organizations/tutogen-medical/), and the Central Texas Regional Blood and Tissue Center.[^1]
