The Israel Bond Organization is a financial institution that raises funds for the State of [Israel](/places/israel/) through the sale of Israel Bonds. [Abraham Feinberg](/people/abraham-feinberg/) publicly served as its president, while privately helping to raise millions of dollars needed to build the controversial [Dimona](/places/dimona/) reactor and reprocessing plant. This allowed the expanding and expensive operations at [Dimona](/places/dimona/) to be financed outside of the normal Israeli budget process, circumventing critics of the nuclear program.[^1]
