[Antipodean Resistance](/organizations/antipodean-resistance/) was an Australian neo-Nazi organization formed in October 2016 and announced to the [Iron March](/organizations/iron-march/) community on October 10, 2016, in a post inviting Australian Iron March users to contact founding members operating under the usernames "Xav" and "Kehlsteinhaus." It was one of several offline organizations incubated directly by Iron March during the forum's active period, alongside [National Action](/organizations/national-action/) (UK) and [Atomwaffen Division](/organizations/atomwaffen-division/) (US).

### Founding on Iron March

The October 10, 2016 Iron March announcement identified two initial points of contact and described the group as an Australian analog to the transnational neo-Nazi organizations being built elsewhere through the forum's community. The group adopted the slogan "We're the Hitlers you've been waiting for" and incorporated Nazi symbols, skull masks, and accelerationist ideology consistent with the Iron March milieu.[^1]

Tim Heibach, who operated under the username "Xav" and additional aliases "Mathew Baston" and "Matty B," was the founding member identified through the username listed in the original Iron March announcement. The 2019 [Iron March](/organizations/iron-march/) database leak confirmed Heibach, a Melbourne-based individual, as the person behind "Xav." He is considered a founding member of Antipodean Resistance based on his role in the initial announcement and early organizational activity.[^1]

Nathaniel Anderson, operating under the usernames "HalArts" and "Rusty Sandusky," was identified through the database leak as another early Antipodean Resistance member from the outer northern suburbs of Melbourne. Jacob Hersant was identified as a further member of the founding cohort.[^1]

### Organizational Character

Antipodean Resistance modeled itself on [National Action](/organizations/national-action/) and [Atomwaffen Division](/organizations/atomwaffen-division/), organizing around physical fitness culture, propaganda production, and occasional demonstrations. It circulated printed materials including posters that targeted LGBTQ+ communities, Jewish institutions, and asylum seekers. Like its Iron March sibling organizations, it drew ideologically on [James Mason](/people/james-mason/)'s *Siege* and on the accelerationist framework that Iron March had popularized beginning in 2015.

The group operated during a period when Australian authorities had not yet developed systematic responses to neo-Nazi accelerationist formations. It is not known to have been formally proscribed under Australian law as of 2026.
