[[Shulamit Ingerman]] was a civilian cryptographer and head of the [[Iran|Iranian]] desk in [[Unit 8200]], an [[Israel|Israeli]] Signals Intelligence (Sigint) unit. She was recognized as one of [[Israel|Israel's]] best cryptographers, having won the highest award for contributions to [[Israel|Israel's]] security twice.[^1] [[Shulamit Ingerman|Ingerman]] introduced [[Ari Ben-Menashe]] to the [[Iran|Iranian]] team of six within [[Unit 8200]]. She was called by [[Ari Ben-Menashe]] when he successfully broke the [[Iran|Iranian]] diplomatic code. She later intervened to obtain a pardon for [[Ari Ben-Menashe]] after he was court-martialed for insubordination by [[Sasson Yishaek|Lt. Col.
