[[Robert Corson]] was a business associate of [[Ian Stuart Spiro]] and was indicted in a savings and loan scam. He was found dead in an El Paso, Texas, motel room the week of the Spiro family's death. Officials stated he died of a heart attack. Corson was reportedly a [[Central Intelligence Agency|CIA]] operative.[^1] Corson was reported to have carried money to South America in a deal to deliver covert weapons.
