Christopher Busch was the son of Harold Lee Busch, an Executive Financial Director at General Motors, and was a convicted pedophile tied to [[Francis Shelden]] and the [[North Fox Island]] network. Busch attended an exclusive Swiss boarding school called Institut Le Rosey during his father's European posting, then briefly attended Wayne State University in the early 1970s before becoming owner of a restaurant called The Scotsman that his father purchased for him. Busch was arrested in January 1977 along with a man named [[Gregory Greene]] for sexually assaulting a boy procured through a church-sponsored big brother program. During his interview, Greene confessed to raping a boy with Busch and stated that Busch would take boys to his family's cabin near Michigan's Ess Lake, and that on one trip a boy had been murdered whom he identified as [[Mark Stebbins]], the first [[Oakland County Child Killer]] victim.[^1]
When police searched Busch's home after his arrest, they found a suitcase full of 8mm child pornography films described as "homemade movies involving children having sex in a tent in a wooded area," along with commercially produced child porn magazines, photos, and movies. The victim of Busch and Greene, Kenneth Bowman, stated Greene had told him "Chris Busch had killed one kid out in the woods up by Chris's house a couple of years ago." Despite this testimony, Busch was cleared as an OCCK suspect based on a polygraph test. A later review of the polygraph results by another examiner determined the results should not have been indicative of Busch being truthful, and he should not have been cleared.[^1]
### Death
On November 20, 1978, one day after the Oakland County Child Killer investigation was closed as unsolved, Busch was found dead at his parents' home. His brother Charles Busch and a patrolman named Richard McNamee discovered the body lying in bed with a gunshot wound to the forehead and a .22 rifle beside him. Crime scene investigators found ropes cut to the length required for binding limbs on the floor, a box of shotgun shells on a dresser, and pinned to the wall a handdrawn portrait of a little boy in a parka coat screaming, which resembled Mark Stebbins. McNamee would later be charged with sexually assaulting a minor in 1982.[^1]
### General Motors Connections
[[Richard Lawson]], a cooperating witness in the OCCK cold case revival in the 2000s, stated that his associate Robert Moore used to take young boys to visit H. Lee Busch, Christopher's father. Lawson also mentioned he and Moore "took a young boy to a Chrysler executive's home on the east side back in the mid to late 70's and the executive paid Moore to have sex with the boy." A cold case detective later discovered the polygrapher who had cleared Busch, Ralph Cabot, was the same examiner who had tested Gregory Greene. Both Busch and fellow suspect [[Kent Gilbert Schultz]] were convicted pedophiles tied to [[Francis Shelden]] who had been cleared based on polygraph results.[^1]
